All Souls Unitarian Church
"Where Reason and Religion Meet"

Summer Services 2009
During the Summer, the minister is not in the pulpit.  Following is the lineup of services and sermons for Summer 2009.
Many thanks to Bob Brunner and the entire Summer Services Committee for creating an exciting summer program!

June 21: Rev. Marvin Chandler
Rev. Chandler is an interdenominational minister from San Francisco who lives in Indianapolis and has spoken at UU
societies. He is also one of the city’s top and in-demand jazz pianists, who will doubtless augment his sermon musically.

June 28: Leona Balek
What luck for a slot reserved for a church/state separation speaker, originally accepted by Ed Doerr, who had to cancel
due to illness. Leona is an All Souls member who recently moved here from Wisconsin, where she headed that state’s
Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Finding a similar Indiana chapter moribund, she has revived it and
is now president of Indiana Americans United.

July 3: Rev. W. Edward Harris
Our beloved Minister Emeritus.

July 12: Mark Doerries
Our own Director of Music here at All Souls.

July 19: Trisha Shepherd
All Souls member Trisha is evening news co-anchor on WRTV Channel 6.

July 26: Judy O’Bannon
Beloved former First Lady of Indiana.

Aug. 2: Carey Hamilton
Executive Director, Indiana Recycling Coalition, Inc.

Aug. 9: Jesse Karbanda
Executive Director , Hoosier Environmental Council, an organization much in the news this spring.

Aug. 16: Ed Delaney
Ed is a local attorney recently returned from his latest trip to Russia, with insights into that country and its legal system.
He has spoken to us and other UU groups before.

Aug. 23: Don Wheat
Minister Emeritus of Third Unitarian Church in Chicago, Don now lives in Michigan.  He has been a frequent pulpit guest
at All Souls and UUI.

Aug. 30: David Hochoy
Director, Indianapolis Dance Kaleidoscope

Sept. 6: R
ev. Kim Bobo
Executive Director, Interfaith Worker Justice (Chicago, IL)
