On April 14, 2006, 22 eager volunteers from All Souls worked for Habitat for Humanity.
They helped build a house for a disabled Vietnam veteran and his mother.
They installed insulation and caulk on this house and then some moved to another house for more work.
This project was organized by All Souls Unitarian Church's Community Outreach Committee.
The Habitat supervisor was delighted with our work, saying, "This group has shown this week the highest level of energy and
enthusiasm of any volunteer group."  Habitat houses are built for those who cannot afford a house with a traditional mortgage.
Those selected for a house must work on it themselves for a number of hours.  Additional work is done by volunteers under
supervision.
