All Souls Unitarian Church Congregational Meeting

May 20, 2007

Minutes

 

Bruce Johnson called the meeting to order at 11:20am.  A quorum (10% of membership or 50 members) was verified with over 60 members present.

 

The following candidates were nominated for the Board of Trustees by voice vote.

            President                                            John Murphy

            Vice-president                                    Tom Sibert

            Secretary                                            Mike Middleton

            Treasurer                                           Ed Wetzel

 

The following members were elected as Trustees for the Board of Trustees by voice vote.

For 2-year terms to fill vacancies:                      Richard Most

                                                                        Rodney Basson

                                                                        Bob Brunner

For 3-year terms as the Class of 2010:  Frank Basile

                                                                        Linda Burns

                                                                        Lucia Fox

                                                                        Caroline Wendt

 

The following members were elected to positions on the Church Council by voice vote.

                        Co-chairs of Council: Babette Miller & Victoria Rempel

                        Council Secretary:                 Helen Dwyer

                        Members-at-Large:               Norma Cummings, Communications Liaison

                                                                        Liz Masur, General Program Liaison

                                                                        Jennifer Mulkey, Sunday Services Liaison

 

Bruce Johnson discussed the financial reports.  There have been mistakes in keeping the books but there is no evidence whatsoever of improprieties.  The audit has been postponed till late June and there will be no revised 2006 statements sent out.  If you need a 2006 statement we will work to get you one.  We have a new Office Administrator, Kathryn Woods.  The records will be corrected by June 30 and statements will be sent out in early July.  The statements will include 2007 operating contributions and the status of your capital campaign pledge to date.    

 

Mike Middleton gave the endowment report for year-end 2006.  The endowment had a net worth of  $520,928 including a 10% investment gain for 2006.

 

Richard Atwater said the Renovation Project was almost done and the committee should be out of business in the next month or two.  There was robust applause for Rich 

 

John Murphy presented a plaque to Bruce Johnson for “Outstanding President of All Souls”.  Bruce showed vision imagination and steady leadership for three years.  There was robust applause for Bruce.
