Bruce Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.
Minutes of the February 21 Board meeting were approved.
The Lilly holding was discussed. Rodney and I are Co-Chairs of the Endowment. Rodney said we should not sell now while it is low. While I am neutral on the stock I believe we should not hold any individual companies. Sharon is uncomfortable with 20% of our holdings in one stock. After discussion, the sense of the board is to reduce our Lilly holdings to 10% with timing determined by the Co-Chairs of the Endowment.
The reports were available. The Board thanks Chris. For the 2006 Report there was a question about the flower fund being 0 and the approximately $30,000 shift from pledges to collections. The discussion became a personnel discussion. Victoria, John Mendonca and Rich left the room.
Rich presented the BRP report. The sound system has been installed. The committee is negotiating with MD Rowe to wrap things up. The only major project left is the siding. The leaks have been addressed but there has not been a good rain to test the fix.
The reports were available. The Board thanks Bruce C and Nancy.
The training being offered by the Heartland district on March 17 has 64 people signed up. This is a good number. Bruce J, John Mendonca and Nancy are going to manage the food service for lunch.
John Mendonca will post the Bulletin on the web site.
The Congregational Meeting is scheduled for May 20.
Victoria discussed the “Renovation Celebration”. It is scheduled for April 29 at 11:30. The Zen Kitchen has volunteered to donate $6,000 worth of food. Victoria expects 300 people. She will rent chairs. She would like a donation from the board. There was a motion to donate $500 amended to come from the Endowment that was seconded and passed.
The Board of Health inspected the facility. Improvements are required to regulate the temperature of the hot water in the RE wing and break the vacuum in the custodian apartment plumbing. These improvements will be done.
The meeting adjourned around 8:25 PM
Mike Middleton, Secretary to the Board
