Pam Schneeman called the meeting to order at 7:08 pm. 

 

Minutes

Minutes of the May 12 Board meeting and May 23 Congregational meeting were approved with some, proper name, spelling corrections.

 

Treasurer’s Report

Ed presented the Treasurers Report.  Cash flow is tight due to prepayments.  The quarterly statements are due to be sent out which spurs some pledge payments so that will help.  We need to review the building rentals with an eye toward charging market rates and renting the space more often.  The collection rate in 2003 was the lowest in a number of years at 90% vs. the typical 97%.   Ed will include a one-page communication about the budget shortfall with the statements.  

 

Jim Schrementi volunteered to look into the rental situation.

 

Bruce Johnson presented a fund raising idea.  Sell member donations on E-Bay.  Bruce J, Mary, Sarah and Greg agreed to work on this idea. 

 

It was suggested that a small group meet in July to make a fund raising presentation at the August joint meeting.  John Murphy and Jim are included in that group.    

 

Minister’s Report and Religious Education Report

Both reports were presented.  Bruce said that it was his birthday but he made no claim to getting older. 

 

August Board/Council Retreat

Jim Schrementi will look into locations.  John M offered one location.  The date initially set for Aug 21 has been changed (as of June 26) to Aug 28. 

 

Transition

Pam turned the board over to Bruce Johnson.
