In mid-2009, members from the UU churches in the greater Indianapolis area met in a convocation to
explore ways we could enhance our cooperation in support of our missions and to expand our service
and visibility in our communities.  Titled the "Greater Good Gathering," the convocation focused on five
main areas of cooperation:
Social Justice Leadership; Growth; Community through Social Activities;
Religious Education; and Arts and Music.  CInUUC was formed later that year to support programs
through communication, cooperation, and coordination.

Our Mission:
The mission of the Council is to support congregations by:
•  Encouraging a unified, interdependent network;
•  Supporting sharing of information among congregations;
•  Facilitating the communication of effective programming, religious and ethical
philosophies, leadership development, operational practices, and denominational
activities;
•  Promoting growth in the visibility and influence of Unitarian Universalism and its values.
