A Renewed All Souls for Our Next Hundred Years This is a very exciting time in All Souls' history! Not since our move to our current location in 1959 has there been such an exciting building project for All Souls Unitarian Church. We are in the midst of a building renovation project. Actual construction will start in mid-June 2006 and (hopefully) will be finished in mid-September 2006. Below is a description of the project. |

| Before we start the tour, please note that these plans are based on the several years of effort that our congregation has put forth defining what needs to be done to make our building better able to fit our needs. This includes the work of previous committees, congregational surveys and feedback sessions, recommendations of several building professionals, and recommendations from our staff. Tour the Restorations and Enhancements of Our Church We'd like you to imagine a Sunday morning, probably late fall 2006. The work is completed and it's time to celebrate--to recognize the almost ten years of dreaming, planning, false starts, and the work of countless individuals, that has finally become a reality. As you leave your car, walk towards the front entrance, you notice new lettering along the street side of the building-- ALL SOULS UNITARIAN CHURCH, Where Reason and Religion Meet. The front of the building still portrays the unique architectural style of the 1950s, yet it once again has its gleam back. New windows replace the badly deteriorated ones; all have matching blinds instead of a hodge-podge of window treatments. The deteriorating siding has been renovated and brightened with fresh finishes. A badly needed new roof now protects the structure. As you pass through the front doors, you notice the lobby has been enhanced and expanded. Windows, similar in style to our present ones, adorn the west wall of the lobby, allowing the beauty of the outdoors to still be viewed. Our beautiful stained glass sculpture highlights these windows which are now eighteen feet further to the west to accommodate the necessary changes for the new elevator and restrooms. You also notice in the location of our present women's restroom is now a spacious, completely updated family restroom. The narrow, steep stairs have been replaced with wider stairs with a gentler grade. Just west of the stairs, where the men's restroom used to be, is a new gateway to the other levels of our church. The new elevator can transport one and all to level L (lower R.E. level), level 2 (upper R.E. level), and level 3 (Beattie Room and choir loft). Now everyone can attend all meetings and special events on any level of the church.
