Please donate to this year’s All Souls Auction to help make it a success! The live auction is scheduled for
Saturday, May 1, beginning at 7 p.m. (mark your calendars!), accompanied by a silent auction beginning
at 5:30 p.m. Our favorite auctioneer, Dick Wolfsie, will again be the Master of Ceremonies.
Unsure about what you can contribute? Unless it’s a gift certificate or a service you’re offering, think of
items “no bigger than a breadbox,” and you’ll be thinking along the appropriate lines. Here are a few ideas:
• Raking leaves
• Antiques (1st edition books, photographs, art work, etc.)
• Homemade baked goods
• Professional consultation (computers, taxes, interior decorating, landscape design, etc.)
• Home repair
• Vacation home for a week or weekend
• Baby-sitting, pet-sitting, or house-sitting
• Private concert given by you (or by a friend)
• Gift certificates to favorite restaurants, dry cleaners, etc.
• Special dinner cooked for the winning bidder—at your place or theirs
• Theme baskets (kids toys, gourmet cooking, bird-watching, etc.)
• Autographed memorabilia (sports, movies, etc.)
• Art work/crafts/photographs made by you or professionals
• Original poem created for the winning bidder
• Jewelry
• Bed and breakfast accommodations
• Gardening labor
• Window cleaning
• Class to teach a skill (cooking, stained glass, bookbinding, knitting, etc.)
Remember: You can offer MORE than one of your items! For example, you could offer two nights of
baby-sitting for two different bidders. You can also offer more than a single item!
All items offered should be accompanied by an Auction Donor Form, which is available at the All Souls
web site or in the Church Office. Donor forms are especially important, because the words you use to
describe your donation will be used in the Auction Catalog to entice people to bid—be creative and
persuasive! You will be contacted about your proposed donation to the auction within 10 days after you
submit the form.
Then get ready for a fun-filled evening in May, and THANK YOU for your generous support!! More
details will follow, but please do begin to give serious thought to how you can make the Auction a great
